No prior preparation is necessary. Our process is thoughtfully crafted to get to know you as an individual and assess your personality holistically.
We're not looking for a polished CV or a list of trophies. We want to see evidence that you think, build, and do. Share projects you've worked on, a business idea you tested, content you've created, a problem you tried to solve, or a team you led. If you've failed at something and learned from it, tell us that too.
It's a conversation, not an interrogation. You'll speak with an industry leader who has built and operated real businesses. They'll want to understand how you think, what drives you, and why you're choosing to spend a year building rather than waiting. There are no right answers. Come curious, come honest, and come ready to talk about what you actually care about.
No. Tetr handles the entire visa process across all eight countries end-to-end, from documentation to timelines to compliance requirements.
Yes. The final term is a dedicated internship or apprenticeship. Tetr has a network of partner organisations we place students with, and you also have the option to bring your own opportunity if you have something lined up. Either way, you leave with a structured output, a formal evaluation, and a reference letter.
We offer limited scholarships for students who demonstrate exceptional merit, leadership, or entrepreneurial drive. Scholarships are assessed on a case-by-case basis during the admissions process.
Your safety is non-negotiable. Every country block has dedicated Tetr staff physically present on the ground, along with 24/7 emergency protocols, local medical contacts, and clear escalation paths. Before each country block, students go through a pre-departure briefing covering safety norms, cultural sensitivities, and emergency procedures. You'll also have a direct point of contact on the Tetr team throughout the year.
Each country has a dedicated Tetr program lead who lives and operates in that market, knows the local landscape, and is responsible for your child's experience on the ground. They manage everything from the daily schedule to business immersion logistics. You'll be introduced to each country lead before your child arrives, so you always know exactly who to reach.
Most applicants walk into university interviews with grades and predicted scores. Tetr students walk in with a portfolio of real work, five commercial capstones built across eight countries. When an admissions officer asks "tell me about yourself", a Tetr student has five specific, verifiable answers. The self-awareness and clarity that comes from ten months of real-world exposure is something universities notice immediately.
Travel gives you stories. This program gives you outcomes. Every country has a clear commercial theme, structured workshops, business immersions inside real companies, and a capstone deliverable. You're not sightseeing. You're sourcing factories in China, negotiating deals in Dubai, launching a brand in India, and closing brand partnerships in Europe.
We understand that timing doesn't always line up perfectly. If your child receives a university offer mid-program, we'll have a direct conversation about the options. Please note that our fee policy does not provide refunds once the program has begun. We strongly recommend confirming your university application situation before committing, and our admissions team is happy to help you think through the timing before you apply.
Yes. Students who complete the program receive a Tetr Gap Year certificate of completion, along with their full portfolio of capstone work, a formal internship evaluation, and a reference letter from their host organisation.
The program fee covers tuition and all workshops, in-term flights, accommodation throughout the year, local transport within each country, all business and cultural immersions, visa processing across all eight countries, on-ground staff and program management, and internship placement support. Students are responsible for personal and incidental expenses, travel to the Tetr orientation location, travel home upon graduation, and travel to and from home during the winter break.
We understand that life happens. However, our policy does not provide refunds once the program has begun. A significant portion of costs including accommodation, immersions, visa processing, and on-ground staffing are committed well in advance and cannot be recovered.
Whether you've just finished high school and aren't sure which direction to take, you're currently in university and want a year away from campus that's actually worth something, or you simply believe the best education happens outside a classroom, this program is for you. We've designed it for young people who are ready to explore the world seriously, not just travel through it.
